Hello London, England! Home of Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, and many more iconic landmarks. We made it to the second stop on our anniversary trip! We had such a fantastic time in Ireland, but were ready to explore another new city and country. Initially, I was intimidated by all the options of things to do in England. Seriously, I was overwhelmed. We planned seven days here, and I easily could have spent another seven. Pete and I agree that a future trip back to London is a must!

DAY ONE
On this day, we woke up before the sun to take a short plane ride from Dublin to London. The only issue was we landed at Gatwick instead of Heathrow, which meant we had a rather long and expensive taxi ride to our hotel. Not too bad for our only hiccup on the trip. Traveling and relaxing at our hotel consumed most of this day. Almost a week in, jet lag finally hit us, and we needed to rest up because tomorrow would be a full day.
Where we stayed
Once we arrived, we checked into the beautiful Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel. This place is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The staff was incredible. Since I am such an architecture fan, staying here was on my bucket list. Luckily, we were fortunate enough to book this entire stay on points! Thanks, IHG Hotels!

Even our room phone was adorable! Seriously, not a detail was missed in this hotel.

Our room even came with a yoga mat!

Our hotel even had many of its own eating and drinking options. One is the highly acclaimed Galvin Bar & Grill which we ate at later in the week!
Where did we eat
LUNCH
The first restaurant we ate at was Pane Cunzato. Pete and I were really craving some pizza, and this place had great reviews. If I am being completely honest, it was not our favorite. It wasn’t an issue with the restaurant but rather a problem with our tastes. We are much more accustomed to the American style of pizza and hoped it would be similar to that. However, we had a lovely table outside where we got to do some people-watching as we ate.

DINNER
I made a reservation at the Coppa Club Tower Bridge because why not have dinner in an igloo! It was a fabulous experience, but the igloo was hysterically giant for only two people. It could be over the top, but all around a beautiful night.
Also, I have to spotlight my DRESS… IT’S MY NEW FAVORITE! I could live in this dress. I was on the fence when I initially tried it, but I am so glad I bought it. You can dress it up or down because it’s versatile. It’s a tank top and skirt set that you can mix and match. It’s stretchy, knit, lightweight, and so flattering. Later in the week, you can see me wearing just the skirt with a black tank, and the look is entirely different—the perfect travel dress.

Pete told me to go to the other side so he could take a photo of me with the background. This is what we got because the tables are so large. Ha! I feel like a news anchor in this photo.

That wraps up our first day in London! It was short because of our flight from Dublin and a long taxi ride, but it was a great start! Tomorrow might be my favorite day in London, so make sure you don’t miss it!
