Wow, this month just flew by! 2023 did not start off great, and we had a trip to the ER in the first week. Thankfully, everyone is OK!!! But January was a bit of a funky month for us. We ended the month with a wonderful visit from my sister-in-law and even saw wild big horned sheep at the Garden of the Gods park! We weren’t feeling up for a hike that day, but we decided to drive through the park and just came up to a herd right off the side of the road. As we watched from our car, the whole herd was grazing about 15 feet from us. It was such an incredible experience! I posted a cool video on my Instagram!
That being said, I wasn’t reading as much, so this will be a short book review. I hope to get back into the swing of things in February.

If you missed my Best of 2022 Book Review:

The Bodyguard: A Novel by Katherine Center
Overall: 5/5
Hannah Brooks works as a female bodyguard. Yep, I said that right. She is a female bodyguard going through sorrow in her personal life. As she processes her situation, she gets assigned to protect the famous actor, Jack Stapleton. Jack needs to return to his family ranch but has a stalker in town. After a bit of doubt, Jack agrees to Hannah’s protection. However, he has one request… Jack doesn’t want his family to know about the stalker and his need for a bodyguard. So, Hannah must pose as his girlfriend. Therefore a fake dating hallmark storyline is born! Is it predictable? Of course. Is it fun? YES!
Two thumbs up! I loved the idea of a female bodyguard. Learning about Hannah’s job and how a female could be a bodyguard was fun. The author made Jack very swoon-worthy. I loved the witty banter, and I fell in love with his family. This book would be the perfect beach read, and I would LOVE to see it made into a film. I highly recommend this easy read. You will have a smile on your face the entire time.
