Woohoo! It’s my February Book Review day!
If you missed my January Book Review:
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
Overall: 5/5
I read this book in 2016 and loved it so much that I decided to read it again because I was in a bit of a slump. Wow. I love it just as much now as I did then. This novel is about two sisters living in France during WWII under Nazi Germany’s occupation. These two sisters deal with survival, love, death, and resilience. It’s an intense and heart-wrenching story. I don’t want to give anything away…but if you like historical fiction books, you’ll like this. This one will stick with you after you read it. I actually cried at one point…and it takes a lot to get me to cry while reading a book ;). Every time I read a Kristin Hannah book, I have to remind myself that these novels are fiction. My goodness, she must do some serious research because the stories she writes feel so real and raw. She may be my favorite author.
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
Overall: 3/5
This book is a fictional tale of a young woman who goes on a Norwegian Fjords cruise and realizes the girl in the cabin next to hers has disappeared. I don’t want to give anything away…but two moments in this book made me gasp out loud.
